Well Done

Congratulations!

Job well done!

You did it!

Dreamer’s goals and accomplishments are celebrated more than ever during this time of year – graduation season. Graduation is a reminder of the sacrifices made. The late night study sessions, consisting of coffee, Red Bull and chocolate to stay awake. The choice to stay locked in and complete that paper when it seemed everyone on campus was on Greek row. Having to pick up a part time job when realizing that financial assistance just wasn’t going to cover the cost of education this semester. See, it’s the blood, sweat and definitely tears that didn’t stop you from what you set out to do.

Thinking back to when you first started out in that cramped auditorium filled with incoming high school or college freshmen you were told to look to the left and look to the right. Someone was not going to be there for graduation.  You turned left and right and looked at two people sitting next to you and they looked at you. They were full of promise and hope. One you wouldn’t be there to see this through to completion…someone wouldn’t make it to graduation. The naive and eager past version of you didn’t believe that. But as the years wore on you saw it come true. You decided that the one to not complete the  journey wouldn’t be you. See, it didn’t matter to you if others had made the choice to make excuses, skip classes and allow the social scene to take over their lives. You decided a long time ago that you would change the course of your life through education. You had a dream to go further and push beyond what others said or thought you could do.

So here you are in a much smaller group than when you began, dressed in a long robe and tasseled cap sitting and waiting anxiously for your moment. Your name is called, you stand and walk confidently to the stage. As you walk across you’re greeted by the smiling faces of those that had completed this journey before you. You shake their hands and instantly you enter into the elite club of graduates. At that moment, it matters not what you had to do to get here; all that is behind you. That was you before you walked across the stage into a new and bright beginning. You realize that your life will never be the same. You have weathered the storm; you have followed your dreams and completed what you set out to do and now your dream has come true. So…

Congratulations!

Job well done!

You did it!

We salute you!
